Halcyon is a crime procedural set in 2040 told in 10 linear episodes and 5 fully interactive VR episodes. Only Syfy could bring such a game-changing vision to its viewers with an equally imaginative promotional campaign. We started by building a virtual backstory for the fictional tech startup company “halcyon” with a series of commercials for their new “VR product” - a luxury product with high-end specs and sleak ergonomic design. The product launch date alluded to in the commercial was eventually revealed to be the TX date for the show itself. This created a buzz around “halcyon” weeks before revealing it as a show.
